Looking for today’s Brilliant Criminal I found this headline: “MAN ARRESTED AFTER GOING AROUND BARRICADES AND HAVING TO BE RESCUED FROM THE TRINITY RIVER”. While the man was arrested and faces a pretty stiff fine, I can see calling him reckless, and I can see where he endangered the life of a minor, but making fun of him and calling him a Brilliant Criminal might be going too far. That’s why I was happy when I found this picture.
Here’s the back story: at about 1:30 Sunday morning a Montgomery County Precinct 4 Deputy witnessed Castro Isaias speed by on a motorcycle (US Highway 59 and FM 1314). Apparently, Castro felt that 1:30 am is far too early to stop for police, so he glanced back at the Deputy then cranked his throttle wide open. Officers in the area were able to stage on US HWY 59 and keep a visual on Castro as he was clocked at speeds over 150 MPH.
At Fostoria Road, Castro pulled off of US HWY 59 and pulled into a gas station. Deputies spotted the motorcycle at a gas pump and found the key to Castro’s motorcycle in the gas cap… and his gas light was on. Castro was booked into custody. I guess he is about to find out how much more expensive evading police is than paying for a speeding ticket!
